Summary (No Spoilers):
Mysterious Footage Found From An Old Video (which is roughly the translation of 古いビデオに入っていた謎の映像) is a short film of 2 minutes in length, and it's exactly what the title says.
In-Depth Review (Spoilers Ahead!):
The style of this film is actually really interesting to me, especially the extreme level of visual effects, beginning with the black and white color, overlaying that with static effects, and then following up with a vignette effect to soften its edges in white. This could easily be done with my cheap Sony Vegas program, but there's still something visually interesting about it, especially considering it released in 2007, a time when fake scares were all over the internet and freaking teens out. A relic of the time in that sense.
The film is very simple in nature, due to its short runtime, as it follows a figure with glowing white skin and dark makeup over the eyes and lips, visually drawing a resemblance to ghosts in old Fatal Frame games, as they peek through a piece of a door and continue to reach through it and tear at it, as if trying to get to the viewer.
The pacing can drag even with such a short time frame, as some of the footage is used repeatedly.
The film fades to black, still using static, and over it for a split second are shots of someone's body posed at a strange angle in a mysterious location, as if dumped there.
Despite this short film lacking in budget and being simple to replicate, it had the charm of 2007 and an eerie, unsettling atmosphere with a supernatural mystery to think about, so I give it a 3/5.
